Employee Orientation

Welcome to ACC!

We are excited you’ve chosen ACC to pursue your career! Over the coming days and weeks, you will receive a lot of information about joining the ACC family. The in-person orientation you will be invited to is designed to go into detail and answer your questions. This page is designed to let you know what to expect as you get closer to your start date!

Getting Started

2-3 days before your hire date, you will receive an email from Human Resources containing instructions for getting started at ACC. It will include such things as:

  • Your orientation date, time, and place
  • Where to park and what to bring with you
  • Your job classification (i.e. classified, professional/technical, faculty, etc.)
  • Your ACC ID number and how to activate it
  • Your ACC email address and how to activate it
  • Onboarding tasks in Workday (including uploading your required I-9 document verifying U.S. employment authorization)
  • Submitting a transcript (for positions requiring a minimum of an associate’s degree)

Hire Dates and Orientation Dates

Your hire date has been arranged to coincide with ACC payroll planning. Most employees start on the 16th or 30th of the month. You will spend your first day in a thorough orientation session. The schedule for FY25-26 for staff and faculty is as follows.

Unless otherwise noted, orientations are held at ACC’s Highland Campus, 6101 Highland Campus Drive. You will meet your fellow new hires in the lobby of Building 3000 at 8 a.m. and then be escorted to the orientation. Wear comfortable shoes; the campus is large!   • Getting started with Workday, ACC’s HR, finance and planning platform
  • A snapshot of ACC
  • Mandatory compliance training
  • Drug and Alcohol Prevention Programs
  • Computer use
  • Safety and Environmental Management
  • Benefits
  • Energy and Sustainability
  • Payroll

There will be a break for lunch. You may bring your own or visit a nearby market.

What to Bring to Orientation

  • A voided check or bank account information, for setting up direct deposit
  • Your ACC Employee ID Number
  • I-9 documents
  • W-4 information
  • Emergency contact information
  • Lunch, if desired
