HealthSelect Member Website

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is the plan administrator for HealthSelectSM of Texas and Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM. You should register for a Blue Access for Members online account. To register:

  1. Go to www.healthselectoftexas.com
  2. Click the log in button at the top right of the homepage.
  3. Follow the directions in the drop-down menu.

Once registered, you will be able to log in from your phone, computer or tablet any time to:

  • order a replacement ID card or print a temporary card
  • check claims status
  • review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements
  • confirm employee and dependent coverage
  • find a doctor or hospital and get driving directions using Provider Finder®
  • use the Provider Finder tool to research and estimate costs for common health care services and treatments

You can find general information and answers to questions about the plan on the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas HealthSelect website.  A BCBSTX Personal Health Assistant can answer questions and provide information by phone or live chat. To speak with a Personal Health Assistant, call 800-252-8039 toll-free, Monday – Friday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. CT or Saturday 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. CT. 

HealthSelect Prescription Drug Program

For questions about benefits, claims, or other details about the HealthSelect Prescription Drug Program, call OptumRx, the plan’s administrator, toll-free at 855-828-9834.

Medical and Prescription Drug ID Cards

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas will mail ID cards to members and covered dependents enrolled in HealthSelectSM of Texas and Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM. OptumRx will mail prescription drug ID cards. You should receive both ID cards within a month of enrollment.

ID cards will be mailed to the address ERS has on file. If you do not receive new ID cards, call:

  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas at 800-252-8039, (TDD: 711)  for medical ID cards; or
  • OptumRx at 855-828-9834, (TDD: 711) for prescription drug ID cards.

Always inform doctors, hospitals, and other providers when your medical insurance changes. 

If you are looking for a software solution to storing plan information, try Apple Pay if you have an iPhone; Android Pay if you own an android, such as Samsung or HTC. Scan the pertinent health information and present the screen when checking in for your appointment.
