Advance planning is crucial to having your deliverable ready when needed. Based on our experience, the average minimum lengths of time needed to complete various projects from the day we receive your final and approved content (copy and images) are outlined below.
Our definition of “approved” is when final written copy and image selection has been agreed upon and indicated by the signature of the department head or project head on the proofed copy, and the piece will not undergo any subsequent changes. Substantial changes to written copy made after final approval will significantly slow down production turnaround times.
If you have to make changes, it will delay the production. OCRM will allow for up to two rounds of proofs before a final deliverable is produced.
Below are standard expectations for project timelines. Timelines will also be dependent upon the scope of the project and where it fits in the editorial calendar with other projects, as well as resources available at that time.
Campaigns
- Overall campaign concept/development – 1 to 3 months
Marketing & Design
- Design Marketing Print Materials — 4-6 weeks
- Design Marketing Digital Materials — 4 weeks
- Design Review & Approvals— 2-3 week
Communications
- InfoHub Articles — 3 weeks
- Press Release/Media Advisory — 3 weeks
- District Social Media Promotion — 3 weeks
Videography & Photography Production
- Marketing Video Production — 6-8 weeks
- Marketing Photography Production — 6-8 weeks
Event Support
- Mascot Appearance — 1-2 months
- Merchandise Requests — 1-2 months
Web Production
- Website Updates — The ACC Webteam reviews requests as they are submitted and are administered according to college needs, risk, and priority. Timelines for different web requests will vary based on these parameters as well as the scope of the request. Further communications may be required to further clarify the request submitted.
- Web Page Edits (content updates, link corrections, etc.) – 1-2 weeks
- Full Website Creation and Deployment — 4-6 weeks
NOTE: Printing/production adds an additional 1-3 weeks, based on the complexity of the piece or production process.
Please remember, OCRM offers many resources in the Marketing Toolkit for you to be able to create some of these pieces on your own. OCRM still needs to give final approval before anything is sent to production or placed with media.
