Record to Report (R2R)

Record to Report (R2R) is a department in the Business Services Office responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, grant, and tax processing that involve collecting, recording and presenting timely and accurate financial data. R2R provides feedback to assist management and other stakeholders in making informed strategic decisions that contribute to equitable student outcomes.

What Does R2R Do?

The R2R Department plays a critical role in accounting and financial reporting processes at Austin Community College District. Our key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Data Collection: We collect financial data from various sources within ACC, including transactional records, budget reports, and operational data, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the information gathered.
  • Data Processing: We process financial data using advanced accounting systems and methodologies, applying industry best practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
  • Financial Reporting: We prepare and present basic financial statements that provide insights into ACC’s financial performance, including; Statement of Net Position, Statements of Revenues, Expenses and Changes in Net Position, Statement of Cash Flows, and other key financial indicators.
  • Operational Feedback: We provide financial and operational feedback to ACC management and stakeholders, offering insights into how the institution is performing and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Internal Controls: The R2R department contributes to establishing and maintaining an effective internal control structure through its processes.
