Managing Director, Instructional Operations and Initiatives

David Borden

David Borden serves as the Managing Director, Instructional Operations and Initiatives for the Vice Chancellor of Instruction. In this role, he works collaboratively across Instruction and the college community to identify opportunities to streamline operations, develop and scale initiatives, and align systems with strategic goals. He is passionate about empowering students, especially non-traditional students, on their educational journeys.

David has worked in education for thirty years. Before coming to ACC, he taught English and administered educational programs in Morocco.

After returning to Texas, he worked in the non-profit sector with persons with cognitive and physical disabilities, neurodivergent people, and persons with mental illness. At ACC, for the last 20 years, he has been an instructor, a program coordinator, the Dean of Adult Education, president of the Professional Technical Association, and served on numerous shared governance and ad hoc committees. 

He has collaborated with colleagues on many grants and innovative initiatives, such as The College Transitions program, Integrated Basic Education and Skill Training, Adult Career Scholars, ACC Works / ACC GROW, the Career ACCelerator, and the Housing Authority Information Technology Internship.

David has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s degree from the University of North Texas.
