Informal Resources

The Office of the Ombudsperson serves as a confidential, neutral, informal, and independent resource for all staff and faculty in the Austin Community College district. The role of the Ombudsperson is to listen to faculty and staff concerns, help identify next steps, and discuss resources.

HR Business Partners were established in 2024 to act as strategic advisors and experts on HR processes and services. They offer coaching and consulting on employee relations and, as advocates for employees, work to foster commitment by ensuring fairness, ethics, and equity in all people-related processes and practices.

Employee Wellness Program strives to provide opportunities within a supportive work environment for employees to improve their health, well being and quality of life. It is available to all full time and part time staff and faculty.

ACC’s Career Services has a team of professionals dedicated to guiding individuals toward a successful career. Employees can also take advantage of these services to explore career options or seek personalized coaching for jobs. They offer strategic guidance, resources, and programs to support career goals and navigate successful career transitions.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is often referenced as a 24/7 resource for individuals in need of counseling services. However, many may not be aware that  ACC’s EAP administrator, Deer Oaks, offers a variety of additional services, all at no cost to employees. These services include: Manager Assist, Life Coaching, Legal and Financial Assistance.
