Charging Stations for plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) are available at all ACC campuses.
Using Charging Stations on ACC campuses:
ACC provides an affordable EV charging rate($0.05/kWh) exclusively for ACC students and employees. the discounted rate is for a full academic year as long as you are employed at ACC or actively enrolled during the semester.

Follow the charging and payment instructions displayed on the station.
Important Information:
- An ACC Parking Permit is required to use the EV charging stations. You can apply for your parking permit [here].
- Charging sessions are limited to 4 hours at a time. Overnight charging is not permitted.
Payment Options:
Payments are processed through the ChargePoint payment portal using your pre-registered payment method.
- ACC Rate: Discounted rates are available for registered students and employees.
- Non-ACC Rate: Charging costs $2 per hour and can be paid using a credit card.

Who is eligible to use Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at ACC?
Active ACC students and employees can register for the ACC-only discounted rate. Anyone with an electric vehicle may use ACC’s Charging Stations with a credit card payment.
For a credit card payment, call toll-free 888-758-4389 or visit chargepoint.com to pay, or to set up a ChargePoint Network monthly access plan. Other payment options include using any smart (RFID) credit/debit card to authorize a session or using a standard credit or debit card at a remote payment station (RPS) to pay for charging sessions.
Are Charging Stations accessible, following the American Disability Act?
Yes, one station is located at an accessible parking space per campus.
Do charging stations work with any electric vehicle?
The ChargePoint networked charging stations at ACC will work with most electric vehicles on the market. ACC supplies (SAE J1772™) level 2 charging connectors.
How long will it take to charge my electric vehicle?
This depends on the type of vehicle. A completely drained Nissan Leaf will take up to 8 hours with a level 2 charger. A Chevy Volt will take less time due to its smaller battery capacity.
Where can I charge my electric vehicle when I am not at ACC?
Many ChargePoint EV Charging Stations can be found around the Greater Austin Area and throughout the United States. Also growing number of DC fast chargers are being installed, including Tesla Superchargers.
