Austin Community College District celebrates Earth Day by engaging students, faculty, and staff in a week of fun-filled sustainability events that highlight the District’s commitment to sustainable practices. All events are FREE and open to ACC students, faculty, and staff.

2026 Belonging Center Showcase Events
The Office of Belonging & Purpose (OBP) at Austin Community College is dedicated to cultivating an engaging and collaborative campus environment, where every student feels accepted, respected, and empowered to succeed.
Join the Office of Belonging & Purpose and Office of Energy & Sustainability for a series of events featuring each of the ACC Belonging Centers and their work as it relates to social sustainability.
Earth Week Cultural Centers Showcase Events
Nature Trail Cleanup & Zero Waste Lunch
The Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Cultural Center at ACC is hosting a Nature Trail Cleanup & Zero-Waste Lunch to celebrate Earth Week. Come join us as we hike and help clean up the Walnut Creek trail near ACC Northridge.

Glow, Grow, and Heal & Zero Waste Lunch
Explore the connection between community healing and sustainable communities in the Truth, Community Healing, & Transformation Center (TCHT). The event features an interactive activity where participants write affirmations and commitments on biodegradable paper to be planted. Participants are invited to join for a Zero Waste lunch and discussion.

Earth Week Kick-Back: Hike & Soccer Game
Enjoy a group hike with the Latin American Cultural Center (El Centro), exploring Latin American perspectives on environmental justice. Following the hike, a Zero Waste lunch will be served in the park with an optional soccer game.

Employee Swag Swap
An appreciation event during ACC’s Employee Wellness Festival honoring faculty and staff for their contributions to sustainability and student success. Employees are invited to bring gently-used t-shirts and other ACC swag to swap with other employees from across the college throughout the Employee Wellness Festival.
