Community and Government Affairs

ACC students and staff visit the Texas Capitol for meetings with state senators and representatives on Community College Day, on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

The Office of Community and Government Affairs is the primary liaison between Austin Community College and the Texas Legislature, U.S. Congress, local elected officials, and stakeholder groups.

We oversee relationships that strengthen partnerships within our community and governmental agencies. We work to ensure public policy aligns with ACC’s mission to provide open access to higher education to all Central Texans who seek it. We support community-based organizations, work closely with lawmakers and community leaders, and serve as the College’s primary liaison to ACC board-appointed regional advisory committees.
