Dear ACC Community,
We are reaching out this morning with heavy hearts. One of our students, Ethan Westgard, has passed away. This is a heartbreaking loss for our Riverbat community, and we are thinking of Ethan’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
We understand that this news will be difficult for many of our students and employees. If you or someone you know is struggling, I hope you will reach out. Such an incident can have a profound effect on us, even if we have not been directly connected to Ethan.
Students — ACC’s mental health counselors are here to provide confidential support and guidance. In addition to our on-campus counseling services, ACC is expanding access to free, 24/7 virtual mental health support through TimelyCare. Employees — Our Employee Assistance Program offers free and confidential counseling support for employees and their family members. If you need time or flexibility, please talk with your supervisor.
Out of respect for Ethan’s family, we will not be releasing any further details about their passing.
In moments like this, we are reminded that ACC is more than a College — we are a community. We encourage you to check in with one another and ask that you keep the Westgard family and friends in your thoughts during this time.
