Miriam A. Smith 

ACC Vice Chancellor of Advancement & ACC Foundation Executive Director Miriam Smith.

Miriam A. Smith serves as Vice Chancellor of College Advancement & Executive Director of the Austin Community College (ACC) Foundation. Smith is responsible for leading fundraising and donor engagement efforts, focusing on growing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to significantly increase philanthropic support for the institution and its vision. 

A strategic, fundraising leader, Smith brings nearly 20 years of extensive development and alumni relations experience, having worked at some of the most highly regarded institutions and organizations in the country, including the Fashion Institute of Technology, Manhattanville College, Columbia Artists Management, and Sarah Lawrence College. 

Prior to joining ACC, Smith served as Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations at Columbia College Chicago where she successfully managed the college’s philanthropic and engagement efforts, working closely with students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and donors to increase critical support and strengthen affinity to the college.

Smith served as the Director of Corporate Relations for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, working with corporations to align their philanthropic interests with the organization’s funding priorities. She also served as Manager of Donor Relations at the Grady Health Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia where she was responsible for cultivating major donor prospects and corporate partners.

Smith holds a Master of Music in Opera degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton in Binghamton, New York and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York.
