Dear Colleagues,
Many of you have likely heard about the recent court ruling that ends in-state tuition eligibility for undocumented students in Texas. I want you to know what we know and how we’re responding.
We are actively working with our legal team to fully understand what this means for our College, our community, and most importantly, our students.
We will always follow the law and will continue to do everything we can to support all students on their path to a better future.
We don’t yet know exactly when any changes from this ruling could go into effect. For now, we have time to assess and understand the full scope of impact, and we’re working to identify resources that can help our students navigate this change.
In moments like these, our values matter most. This moment most requires our values of Courage and Compassion. We lead with love. We remain deeply committed to walking with our students and with you through this change. Here’s the message I shared with our students this afternoon. It includes phone numbers and resources if they have questions or need support.
Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and your commitment to our students. Your compassion and care make ACC the kind of place where every student can belong—especially in uncertain times like these. My promise to you is that you’ll know more as soon as we know more.
Much love,
russell
