Message from the Chancellor: In Appreciation of Our Military Veterans

Dear Riverbats,

Tomorrow marks the nation’s observance of Veterans Day. It is a day to honor and appreciate members of the armed forces who served our country.

ACC is proud to stand in support of our military and military families. For the first time, the college will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. All campuses and centers will be closed Friday, November 11. We will resume normal hours of operation Saturday, November 12.

I hope you will take this time to reflect upon our freedoms and remember and honor our service members as well as their families.

I, personally, want to thank our many employees who have served in the U.S. military. Your dedication to our country has carried forward to this college, and I couldn’t be more appreciative of your service then and now. The college established a digital message board where you also can leave a note of appreciation. You can find this wall — along with personal reflections from our many veteran faculty, staff, and students — at this link.

Supporting our veterans as they transition to civilian life is an important part of our mission at ACC. This semester, ACC welcomed approximately 1,500 veteran students. We offer tailored services and resources to provide veterans with guidance, programs, and a supportive environment. You can find all our resources on our Veterans Services web page.

Thank you, again, veterans. I appreciate all you do.

Regards,
Richard M. Rhodes, Ph.D.
