Dr. Gaye Lynn Scott

Dr. Gaye Lynn Scott serves as Vice Chancellor of Instruction, with administrative responsibility for the college’s credit/transfer programs, credit workforce programs, continuing education division, and adult education office.

Dr. Scott’s focus is always on promoting excellence, equity, and innovation in teaching and learning and supporting programs that contribute to student success. She led efforts to embed equity in faculty hiring; develop eight-week programs; move to a more strategic approach to scheduling; create a college destination center that serves all students, including adult education and continuing education students; and launch an early alert program.

Dr. Scott also has served as associate vice chancellor of academic programs at ACC, dean of social and behavioral sciences, and a professor of government — including serving as the government department chair for nearly five years. Dr. Scott earned her doctorate in higher education from Texas Tech University in December 2015. That same year, Dr. Scott was named ACC’s Administrator of the Year and was a Roueche Excellence Award winner. She is active in her church, a lifelong baseball fan, and an accomplished pianist.
