Texas Higher Education Assessment

The Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) Quick Test assesses the reading, mathematics, and writing skills of individuals who are seeking educator certification or other certifications in Texas. It is administered in a proctored setting. Learn more on the THEA website.

Scheduling Your Test

This exam is offered by appointment only Monday through Thursday at Highland Campus.

You may schedule this test by completing the online Exam Registration form. The form includes a link to pay the $40 Quick THEA proctor fee through ACC Marketplace. Upon payment, you will enter your receipt number/order number and schedule your test. You must pay $40 proctor fee before scheduling your THEA exam.

Retest Policy:

You may not retake the THEA IBT within 14 days of another test administration. You may register and pay for a test during the 14 days, but you may not attempt a retake test until after the 14-day waiting period has ended on the 15th day.

  • $15.00 – same day schedule fee (To avoid this fee, schedule the test at least one business day in advance.)

All test fees are non-refundable and transferable and are subject to change without notice. Fees paid to ACC Business Testing are valid for one year.

Required Identification

You must present two forms of current personal identification (1 photo + 1 photo/non-photo) with the name in which you registered to be admitted to the exam. The primary form must be a government issued photo ID with a signature. Examples:

  • Valid State-issued driver’s license or ID card
  • Passport
  • Tribal ID
  • Military ID card
  • Naturalization card or certificate of citizenship

  • Pay stub
  • Social Security card
  • Insurance card
  • Valid credit/debit card
