FutureFit Series Hosts First Seminar: Generating Tomorrow’s Workforce

Austin Community College’s Make It Center recently hosted the first seminar in a new series titled FutureFit. Generating Tomorrow’s Workforce marked the first of the seminars and explored the impact of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) on higher education and employment. The seminar featured keynote speaker Dr. E. Glen Weyl, of the Plurality Institute and Microsoft Research Special Projects Division.

After the keynote address, Glen joined Abdul Sobhani, CEO of Centex Technologies, an I.T. consulting company, and the civilian advisor to the secretary of the Army for the Austin region. Dr. Umphrey, Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs, moderated the panel and took questions from the audience about AI’s role in the future of student success.
