OFFICE FOR THE FUTURE

The Office for the Future is ACC’s innovation engine of emerging technology, and long-range institutional strategy. Led by Executive Vice Chancellor Dr. Monique Reeves, we position ACC as a strategic partner for the City of Austin, Travis County, and the broader Central Texas region. We work alongside industry leaders, municipal stakeholders, and community advocates to ensure our work directly serves the people of Central Texas.

A Resource for AI & Emerging Technology
Through the Austin AI Alliance, the Digital Twin Consortium®, and the Digital Education Council, ACC is at the center of applied artificial intelligence and emerging technology ecosystem. These partnerships connect local employers, city agencies, and academic institutions to build a workforce ready for the industries defining our regional economy.

Investing in Entrepreneurship & Economic Mobility
The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Academy and our student-facing programs like NEST FEST are creating a pipeline of entrepreneurial talent rooted in the region’s most underrepresented communities. We believe that economic mobility begins with access, and that ACC students deserve a clear, supported pathway from the classroom to ownership.

Building a Community of Future Makers
The Alliance of Future Makers is a national network of faculty, professionals, and students united around a shared commitment to building what comes next. The Fellows Track develops faculty and staff innovators. The Leadership Track engages community and industry leaders. The Alliance of Student Future Makers connects students directly to the future they are building. The Future Fit Council brings together business and industry civic leaders and institutional voices to guide our collective direction. Four tracks. One ecosystem. Rooted in innovation, built for impact.

Research, Foresight & Futures Leadership
The Office for the Future conducts applied research and cultivates national partnerships to keep ACC’s long-range strategy grounded in evidence. Current work includes ACC’s participation in the Digital Twin Consortium’s national higher education initiative and ongoing research through the Austin AI Alliance’s workforce readiness programs.

We invite city officials, community organizations, and regional partners to engage with the work of the Office for the Future. Whether through partnership, sponsorship, advisory participation, or advocacy, there is a meaningful role for every stakeholder who believes in the power of accessible, innovative higher education to transform lives and strengthen Austin.
