Human Resources (HR) has primary responsibility for managing and coordinating approved workplace accommodations for ACC faculty and staff.
Employees (faculty/staff) seeking a workplace accommodation for communication access should review the ADA Accommodations page and submit the online request form.
Once communication access accommodations are approved, employees are responsible for submitting service requests at least 5 business days (Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm) in advance for:
- Meetings
- Work-related activities
- Trainings
- ACC-sponsored events
Beginning in October 2026, Deaf or hard of hearing ACC employees will submit requests for interpreting and CART services through the Usked app.
Per ACC Administrative Rule Employment of Individuals Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, As Amended (G/P 4.0101.01.1, effective 03/24/20):
“It is the responsibility of the applicant or employee with a disability to inform the immediate supervisor or the Office of Human Resources Department that an accommodation is needed. Upon receiving notice, the Human Resources Department is responsible for managing the request for accommodation.”
Coming Fall 2026: On-Demand Language and ASL Interpreting Pilot
To provide timely, seamless communication support, the College is launching an on-demand video and audio interpreting pilot within Basic Needs Systems and Student Affairs. The service will support American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken-language needs that arise unexpectedly and require immediate assistance.
This pilot complements—but does not replace—interpreting services arranged for academic programs, events, or other planned communication-access needs. The College anticipates expanding this on-demand service institution-wide in spring 2027.
