With over 30 years of nursing experience, Dr. Almasy has been a dedicated member of the ACC community since 2003. Before her current role, she served as Dean of Health Sciences and Chair of the Professional Nursing Department at ACC.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Almasy earned her Baccalaureate in Nursing from Ahwaz Medical Sciences University in Iran and obtained her Master\u2019s and Doctorate in Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, School of Nursing. <\/p>\n<p>Her strong academic and professional background has equipped her with the expertise to lead and inspire in the field of healthcare education.In addition to her work at ACC, Dr. Almasy\u2019s leadership extends to state-level contributions. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>She was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Texas Board of Nursing from 2012 to 2019 and is the recipient of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Award for Excellence in Teaching and Organizational Leadership in 2008. She serves on the Board of Trustees for South Austin Medical Center and is a member of the Leadership Council of the Central Texas Healthcare Partnership, where she plays a key role in shaping the region\u2019s healthcare workforce and community healthcare policy.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Almasy is committed to creating a healthier community through collaborative and innovative healthcare education.
