Kayla Oldham is a Recruiting Specialist at Austin Community College. She is from the Central Texas area and holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Texas Permian Basin. While pursuing her bachelor’s, Kayla served as a resident assistant, marketing coordinator for the step team, and was also a founding member and vice president of The Black Student Union. Kayla is passionate about helping students develop both academically and professionally. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Sweet Potato, as well as trying new restaurants and attending local farmers’ markets.<\/p>\n

Nick Trefelner is a Recruiting Assistant at Austin Community College, supporting recruitment efforts in the South Regional District of Austin. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he earned a Bachelor\u2019s in Political Science with a minor in International Studies from Texas State University in 2024, reflecting his interests in social work, outreach, and administrative support. In his free time, Nick enjoys staying current on the news and exploring history and government. Most recently, he completed a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA in Austin as a Program Evaluation Specialist for a nonprofit serving the homeless, where he translated program outputs into actionable data and set standards for database quality. He brings this same dedication and passion to his work at Austin Community College.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Lizet is a Recruiting Assistant at Austin Community College, where she plays a key role supporting recruitment services. She manages administrative responsibilities such as scheduling and documentation, in addition to giving tours and guidance to prospective students. Although previously working in the automotive industry, Lizet\u2019s true passion has always been in education, particularly in uplifting underserved communities. She believes that all students deserve the opportunities and resources capable of meeting their ambitions. Lizet is also a proud Austinite, having earned her bachelor\u2019s degree at the University of Texas at Austin, where she double majored in Plan II and International Relations & Global Studies. Helen Tonnu serves as the Recruitment Director for Austin Community College within the Office of Enrollment Management. A proud Austinite and alumna of both ACC and UT, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies with a minor in History. Ross serves as the Regional Director of Recruitment Services for the South Region. He was born and raised in Minnesota where he developed an early appreciation for learning and a passion for outdoor pursuits. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO and later his Master\u2019s degree in Education from National University in San Diego, CA. Ross has over 20 years of experience serving students in higher education, having worked in the University of California system, his alma mater Fort Lewis College, and St. Edward\u2019s University. His motivation for working with under-resourced students led him to join the ACC family in 2015. On his days off, Ross can typically be found on, in, or near water with his dog Nova, pursuing numerous outdoor hobbies, or hanging out with friends.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
