Early Voting in Texas: Things to Know

  • You can only vote in your county of residence: Both Travis and Williamson Counties allow their residents to vote at any Early Voting location within their counties, but Travis County voters cannot vote at Williamson County polling sites and Williamson County voters cannot vote at Travis County Polling Sites. In other words, folks registered to vote in Travis County can vote after Highland, Riverside, Rio Grande and Eastview Parades to the Polls and Williamson County voters can vote after the Cypress Creek Parade.
  • We will all vote together, but the parade will not enter the polling place: Although we are parading to the polls, we will not bring the parade INSIDE the polls. Even though this is a nonpartisan event, the band and well wishers will stay outside the 100 ft. electioneering boundary surrounding the polling place entrance.
  • DO NOT wear political apparel if you plan on voting: Wearing T-shirts, buttons or hats supporting political candidates at the polls is illegal. You can wear a shirt that says VOTE! but not you cannot wear anything that advocates voting for a specific cause or person.
