This new benefit underscores our commitment to supporting the families of our dedicated employees.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-left is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-fdcfc74e wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1wcItkAJrkhwzMQQ0ejyZoCIZx6Gl2NV3\/view?usp=sharing\">View Informational Slides <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<p>Eligibility for this benefit extends to <strong>staff, faculty, and adjunct faculty<\/strong> who have been employed at ACC for six months or more in one of those classifications. Time spent as an hourly employee does not count toward the six-month eligibility requirement. At this time, this new benefit is not available to hourly or temporary employees. <\/p>\n<p>Students using this benefit to apply for free tuition must meet the ERS definition of dependent, which includes being under 26 years old on the first day of class. To be considered an eligible dependent, the employee must be able to certify their child as one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>natural child<\/li>\n<li>adopted child<\/li>\n<li>foster child&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>stepchild<\/li>\n<li>child under managing conservator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Key points to note:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Registration<\/strong>: Dependents should <a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.austincc.edu\/registration\/how-to-register-for-classes\/\">register for classes<\/a> as soon as possible. There is no limit on the number of hours they can take or the number of eligible dependents per family.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Costs<\/strong>: The Tuition Voucher program covers tuition and certain fees only (excluding lab fees and course fees) for academic <strong><em>credit<\/em><\/strong> classes. <em>If your dependent child(ren) is eligible for tuition exemptions or waivers that cover tuition, these funds will be applied first to cover tuition costs before using the tuition voucher.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Deadline<\/strong>: Dependents must follow Austin Community College\u2019s registration processes and meet any <a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.austincc.edu\/tuition-deadlines-payment-information\/\">payment deadlines<\/a> for remaining fees in order to avoid being dropped from classes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><p class=\"has-background has-medium-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#00d18430\">The Free Tuition for Employee Dependents program cannot be used for Continuing Education classes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/evs.apps.austincc.edu\/\">Add Child Dependent<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<p>NOTE: Employees will need to submit each of their child dependents only once. If you already completed the Dependent Voucher Verification Google Form to verify your dependent(s) for Fall 2024, you will not need to add them again. The form has been replaced with an online process; the link above will be used to add dependents going forward.<\/p>\n<p>Once your dependent has been registered for classes, they will need to submit their vouchers for payment for each class using the new online system. This will need to be done by the student anytime they register for new classes.
