When an Employee Dies<\/strong><\/p>\n In the event of death, ACC no longer accepts beneficiary designation forms for an employee\u2019s final paycheck. ACC will distribute the final paycheck to the legally authorized representative of the deceased employee. Contact the HR Benefits office if you need assistance.<\/p>\n Life Insurance<\/strong><\/p>\n The Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) administers insurance benefits for ACC employees, including life insurance. You must log in to your ERS OnLine account to designate your beneficiary. Once you designate your beneficiary, ERS will email a PDF of your beneficiary designation to the email address they have on file. To complete the designation process, print, sign, have witnessed, and return the designation form to ERS<\/strong>. Do not return this form to HR Benefits. You will receive a second email from ERS confirming the completion of your beneficiary designation. If there is no Designation of Beneficiary form on file, the plan automatically designates beneficiaries in the following order: spouse, children, parents, estate.<\/p>\n You can change that automatic designation by completing the Designation of Beneficiary form and returning it to the plan administrator’s office directly.
