The council is being assembled by the Office for the Future at Austin Community College. It will be composed of representatives from the Austin Community College District’s service area and represent Central Texas industry, education, policymakers, economic development, and non-profits. Meeting cadence will be quarterly to collaborate on the future of Central Texas to support sustainable growth, student opportunity, and upward economic mobility of all citizens.
The Future Fit Council will convene quarterly for 2026 on the following dates:
- Thursday, February 12, 2026 @ 10am – 11:30am CST
- Thursday, April 30, 2026 @ Summit of Future Makers
- Thursday, August 13, 2026 @ 10am – 11:30am CST
- Thursday, November 19, 2026 @ 10am – 11:30am CST
As a founding member, your organization will help:
- Provide Strategic Input: Advise on workforce needs to keep ACC programs responsive and relevant.
- Collaborate on Innovation Projects: Co-develop pilot programs that apply new technologies in training and education.
- Support Talent Pathways: Partner to remove barriers to high-demand career opportunities.
- Champion Regional Growth: Advocate for a vibrant, future-fit regional economy.
