ACC\u2019s Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report<\/a> indicates over 46% of ACC\u2019s GHG emissions are coming from purchased electricity. ACC has implemented several initiatives to save energy and make the district’s buildings more sustainable.<\/p>\n

HVAC Systems<\/h2>\n

ACC has upgraded HVAC systems to more energy efficient units across all campuses.<\/p>\n

Lighting<\/h2>\n

ACC is continuously working on a variety of lighting-related programs to conserve energy, including phasing out inefficient incandescent and fluorescent bulbs throughout the district.<\/p>\n

Outdoor<\/h2>\n

ACC reduced energy consumption by 69% through the Northridge Campus Outdoor Lighting Project. In addition to saving energy, this project uses a ROAM system to dim unnecessary lights during unoccupied times and enhances safety and security in the parking lot by improved light quality. This project is one of the largest installations in the nation among other LED outdoor lighting applications. <\/p>\n

Desktop Lamps<\/h2>\n

Interested individuals can reduce their energy usage and pledge to turn off he overhead lights in their personal office spaces. LED desktop lamps are available for eligible faculty and staff while supplies last.\u00a0This lamp uses less energy than current desktop lamps, improves lighting, and saves money. Request a desktop lamp.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Occupancy Sensors<\/h2>\n

ACC has continued to install occupancy sensors in all district buildings.\u00a0These sensors shut off lights once individuals have vacated a room or hallway and help to reduce unnecessary energy use.<\/p>\n

Solar Panels<\/h2>\n

ACC maintains over 1 megawatt of rooftop solar photovoltaic panels to produce a portion of the electricity the college uses.\u00a0Check out our Renewable Energy Projects<\/a>.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sustainability Dashboards<\/h2>\n

 ACC’s Sustainability Dashboards<\/a> located across the district display electricity usage, solar energy production<\/a>, and water and gas consumption in real-time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
