{"id":98,"date":"2022-11-16T14:26:24","date_gmt":"2022-11-16T14:26:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/offices.austincc.edu\/emergency-management\/?page_id=98"},"modified":"2025-03-14T21:15:48","modified_gmt":"2025-03-14T21:15:48","slug":"fire-reporting-and-response-procedures","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/offices.austincc.edu\/emergency-management\/fire-reporting-and-response-procedures\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire Reporting and Response Procedures"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reporting Procedure<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you discover fire or smoke, activate a manual fire alarm pull station as you exit the floor or building.<\/li>\n<li>If you are not in immediate danger:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Call ACC Police Dispatch at 512-223-7999 and provide:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>your name<\/li>\n<li>the specific location of the fire<\/li>\n<li>the size and type of the fire<\/li>\n<li>any other information requested by the dispatcher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Notify the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/offices\/safety-and-operations\/campus-administration\">Campus Manager&#8217;s Office<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Response Procedure<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If you are trained in the proper use of portable fire extinguishers<\/strong> you may attempt to extinguish or contain a small fire. Do not place yourself or others in unnecessary danger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you or someone else needs emergency medical attention, call 911.
