ACC is pleased to evaluate filming and photography requests on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in using ACC space for a photoshoot, film, TV show, or commercial, you\u2019ll be asked to answer questions about your project and submit a script and project synopsis for review.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to Expect<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The review process for filming and photography at ACC happens in two phases.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phase 1: Content Review&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The College first reviews the content and scope of the project for approval. This includes understanding the content, identifying whether ACC will be identifiable or identified, reviewing scripts and synopsis where applicable, etc. College policy prohibits filming or photography that implies endorsement of a business or organization.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phase 2: Logistical Planning &amp; Coordination<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the content is approved, the request moves forward for logistical consideration and coordination. At this phase, the requester will complete any necessary paperwork, such as insurance documentation, room coordination, formal scheduling, payment, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"mailto:collegerelations@austincc.edu\">Submit a Film or Photography Request<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have questions? Before you submit a request, please review this list of frequently asked questions about filming or photography at ACC.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">What types of film and photography projects require review and approval?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Filming and photography projects that require College permission and a location permit include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Documentaries<\/li>\n<li>Feature films<\/li>\n<li>Independent films<\/li>\n<li>Scripted and reality TV programs<\/li>\n<li>Short films<\/li>\n<li>Still photography, including interior and exterior buildings on ACC property<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">What questions will I be asked to answer?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you would like to submit a request, please be prepared to share any pages of a script that represent(s) what will be taped\/photographed\/discussed during your time at the campus. In addition, you\u2019ll be asked to answer the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is the general purpose of this project?<\/li>\n<li>What are your preferred dates and times for filming?<\/li>\n<li>Is this for a class project\u200b or related to a college partnership\/program?<\/li>\n<li>Will you be working with any ACC faculty, staff, or students on this project? If so, please explain their role.<\/li>\n<li>Is there a specific ACC campus or space you&#8217;re seeking?<\/li>\n<li>How will the project be distributed?<\/li>\n<li>Will ACC be identified or identifiable?<\/li>\n<li>Provide a project synopsis\/description and other important production details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Are all ACC spaces available to reserve for filming and photography purposes?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No. Many of our labs, simulation centers, and other instructional spaces are highly specialized environments. Due to safety, privacy, and instructional considerations, these areas are generally not available for external filming or photography.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In limited cases, exceptions may be considered for College partners or ACC student film projects, depending on the nature and purpose of the request.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Is there a fee for filming or photography on campus?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most external film and photography requests may be assessed a $1,500 per day fee.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exceptions may be granted for College partners and ACC students. The College Operations team will determine whether fees apply on a case-by-case evaluation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">My project is for an ACC class. Do I still have to submit a request?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, but the review process is simplified. ACC students are permitted to film on campus for a class project assigned by a faculty member for a grade. Students must submit a request and share the name and email address of their professor. Once submitted, the College will contact the professor listed in the request to confirm that the filming is for their class. The College will accommodate filming for approved class projects whenever possible.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">My production is small. Do I still need to have liability insurance?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes. All video productions must hold the required liability insurance in order to film\/photograph on ACC property.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Do I need approval to take non-commercial photographs on campus?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No. A permit is not required for personal photography. Still photography for commercial and\/or advertising purposes is not allowed without prior approval.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Are there other restrictions to consider?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Filming and photography must not be disruptive, violate College rules, inconvenience members of the ACC community, or create a safety hazard. Students must secure a Talent Release Form from anyone being featured on camera.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Do these rules apply to official media outlets?<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No. Filming and photography requests from media are evaluated on a separate basis and do not require a form or four-week notice. Media are required to contact the Office of College Relations &amp; Marketing to arrange campus visits and interviews. Requests for non-news filming and photography on campus must be submitted at least four weeks in advance of your proposed filming date.
