This<br \/>morning, the justices ruled against efforts to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)<br \/>program. Their decision keeps the DACA program alive and protects Dreamers from deportation. Austin<br \/>Community College (ACC) District stands in full support of this ruling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACC is a firm believer in equity and inclusion for everyone. As a Truth, Racial Healing &amp; Transformation<br \/>(TRHT) Campus Center and a Hispanic Serving Institution, ACC is dedicated to providing a safe and<br \/>welcome learning environment where all students can succeed. With today\u2019s ruling our students can<br \/>continue on their journey without fear and uncertainty weighing over them. To our DACA students,<br \/>faculty, staff, and their families and friends \u2014 we celebrate with you today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This week also marks an important Supreme Court ruling for LGBTQ equality. Our LGBTQ community<br \/>now stands protected from workplace discrimination nationwide. No longer will someone\u2019s sexual<br \/>orientation or gender identity compromise their career goals. ACC applauds this decision and proudly<br \/>stands by our LBGTQ students and employees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I recognize that even with these Supreme Court victories there is still much work ahead for our nation<br \/>and community. Tomorrow, the college will commemorate Juneteenth. I invite you to join us for the<br \/>conversation hosted by Student Life, the African American Cultural Center, and our TRHT.
