{"id":42,"date":"2023-12-13T23:53:21","date_gmt":"2023-12-13T23:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/offices.austincc.edu\/bact\/?page_id=42"},"modified":"2026-03-26T14:37:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T14:37:08","slug":"test-of-essential-academic-skills","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/offices.austincc.edu\/bact\/test-of-essential-academic-skills\/","title":{"rendered":"Test of Essential Academic Skills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is an assessment used by educators, colleges, and universities to help evaluate the academic aptitude, learning styles, and test-taking skills of students applying to a health occupations program.<\/p>\n<p>The TEAS is a four-part assessment with individual tests for reading, mathematics, science, and English and language usage. The total testing time is 3 hours and 29 minutes. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atitesting.com\/teas\/exam-details\" target=\"_blank\">Learn more about the TEAS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-electric-grass-gradient-background has-background\"><strong>Please check with your program coordinator to confirm which version of the TEAS you need to take (LVN or Allied Health), and the number of times you can take the exam.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please make sure you have an ATI account made prior to your test date, or you will be asked to reschedule. <a href=\"https:\/\/user-management.atitesting.com\/?_gl=1*i8h1o9*_gcl_au*MzU0NzM0NDAxLjE3MzYxNzU2Mjk.&amp;_ga=2.251739209.1591933521.1736175629-1056261598.1736175629\">You can make an ATI account here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ACC currently offers the TEAS only to ACC students. We are unable to accommodate students who are taking the exam for another institution.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scheduling Your Test<\/h2>\n<p>ACC administers the TEAS (<strong>LVN and Allied Health only<\/strong>) test by appointment, Tuesday through Thursday, at <span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">the Business Assessment and Testing Center locations on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/campuses\/highland-campus?ref=ddm\" target=\"_blank\">Highland<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/campuses\/round-rock-campus?ref=ddm\" target=\"_blank\">Round Rock Campuses<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>To schedule an appointment, complete the online <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.registerblast.com\/austincc\/Exam\/List\">Exam Registration form<\/a> and follow the link to pay the $35 <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.touchnet.com\/C20395_ustores\/web\/store_cat.jsp?STOREID=14&amp;CATID=17\">TEAS exam proctor fee<\/a> through ACC Marketplace. Upon payment, you will enter your receipt number\/order on the Exam Registration form and schedule your exam.<\/p>\n<p>Space is limited, so schedule your test well in advance if possible, and at least one business day in advance.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TEAS Test Fee<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to the proctor fee, you must pay the applicable fee(s) for individual TEAS tests. You will pay this fee with a major credit card on the day you take your test, before you begin.<\/p>\n<p>If you are late, absent, or reschedule on the day of your test, you must pay a $15 no-show or\u00a0rescheduling fee\u00a0to get a new appointment. Same-day appointments are subject to availability and require an additional fee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All fees are subject<strong> to change and n<\/strong>on-refundable.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Identification Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>To take the test, you must present identification that includes your name, address, birthdate, photograph, and signature. Examples are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Government-issued photo ID, such as a state-issued driver&#8217;s license or state-issued identification card<\/li>\n<li>Military ID<\/li>\n<li>Passport<\/li>\n<li>Government (national or foreign) identification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accommodations<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-dc27aeef7eceef16b8085156b7fe1067\"><strong>If you need accommodations, you must have a letter from <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/student-accessibility-services\/\">Student Accessibility Services<\/a> before you register and pay for the TEAS exam.
