Explore careers or kick start your job search through the programs and services below.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Career Services<\/h2>\n<p>Whether you are a former student without a degree, a recent graduate, or you attended ACC many years ago, ACC&#8217;s Career Services can meet with you to discuss:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Career planning<\/li>\n<li>Career assessment<\/li>\n<li>Job transitions<\/li>\n<li>Resume, cover letter, &amp; CV writing<\/li>\n<li>Networking<\/li>\n<li>Other topics relating to professional development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/career-services\/\">ACC Career Services<\/a> or contact the office at 512-223-0399.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/career-services\/career-preparation\/\">View ACC&#8217;s Career Preparation page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking for a Job? <\/h2>\n<p>Visit the&nbsp;ACC Career Services <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/career-services\/job-postings\/\">Job Board<\/a>&nbsp;to view positions posted by area employers seeking ACC students and alumni to fill jobs or internships. Jobs are sorted by full-time and part-time.<\/p>\n<p>New jobs and internships are posted daily on ACC\u2019s Handshake account. <a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/career-services\/jobs-and-internships\/\">Learn about Handshake<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/joinhandshake.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">download the app and claim your free account<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.joinhandshake.com\/edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">access online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Employers: ACC Career Services offers two options for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/business-and-community\/post-jobs-internships\">posting jobs and internships<\/a>. Each is a unique approach and employers are encouraged to use both options. Job-posting services are offered at no charge to our students, alumni, and employers.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job Search Tips<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">College Resources<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tap into the connections and resources available through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/alumni\">ACC&#8217;s Alumni Network<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Check out the&nbsp;alumni directory, and update your own information while you are there.<\/li>\n<li>Attend alumni events\u2014they are good networking opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Connect with&nbsp;alumni on LinkedIn&nbsp;and&nbsp;other social networking sites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Online Persona<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In addition to having a fine-tuned resume, develop a portfolio to showcase examples of your work from classes, internships, or any activities related to your field.<\/li>\n<li>Manage your digital footprint:&nbsp;Search your name online to see what employers will find. Re-examine your profiles on social media sites, and maximize privacy settings for personal sites such as&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;and professional sites like LinkedIn. Understand what content is accessible to potential employers and contacts.<\/li>\n<li>If you are using Twitter,&nbsp;lock your profile&nbsp;unless its professional in nature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Making Connections<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Seek advice from professionals in your industry to learn about their career paths. Do not ask new contacts for jobs; instead ask them to share information and tips as you try to break into the market.
